THERE IS A WIRE LOCATED WHERE THE ANTENNA SHOULD BE. IT DOES NEED AN ANTENNA BUT WORKS GREAT. The wire is attached (inside) to the place where the antenna would be installed. It was already that way when I purchased the radio.
The radio looks very clean, like it was not used very much. I have not used it very much either
